A discussion essay on education

It is a fact that nowadays we live in a technological world because the new devices of information and communication form a part of a modern person’s daily life. As a consequence, in obedience to education centres have had to modernize their teaching by introducing laptops in to their classroom a government plan.

In my opinion, introducing the new technological devices of modern society in to schools could be a great measure to increase the opportunities of education for students. In this way, teachers could better care for the diversity in their classrooms. Moreover, I think that this new way of teaching could offer possibilities we have never had look before to improve student’s learning at different ages. It is for this reason I think that ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) are an important part of modern teaching that teachers have to introduce even though. Children do not learn better writing, reading or doing their exercises from a text book.

However, I think that schools should not forget that it is just as important invest in human resources as in material resources. For example, in the hypothetical case that teachers were replaced with machines, what would happen if a child fell down? might a machine give him the consolation and affection that the child needs in that moment? I am not so sure of it. It is true that new technologies improve our life and we have to use them but, in my opinion, a machine will never replace the great work that a teacher carries out.

In conclusion, I think that education is a very important process that teachers and students must carry out together (the teacher as a guide of the pupil who is definitively the person in charge of his own learning) if we want a better future. For this reason, I believe that we must adopt the new available to us whether technological or another type, to keep in touch with social reality and the changes that are produced in it to create more competent citizens in the future.
